- Proper jewellery storage is important for keeping your pieces in great condition. Prevent dents and scratches by keeping it separate from other pieces in your jewellery box. Storing it in your pouch is perfect for this.
- Avoid spraying perfume or applying body lotion directly onto your pieces. It accelerates tarnish, impacts the longevity of your plated pieces, and can be detrimental to softer gems like corals
- Salt water and chlorine can cause damage to your pieces; many metals and gems react adversely with them. If you’d like to have them on while swimming, please do this infrequently and rinse them off thoroughly with fresh water.
- Refresh the shine of your piece with the provided polishing cloth.
- Clean dirty pieces with cool water, dish soap, and a soft toothbrush, and polish with the provided polishing cloth.
Raw Brass Pieces
Brass tarnishes as a result of oxidation in the presence of air, moisture, and acids. We induce a variety of patinas on some of our pieces with this process. If you have had your piece for a while and you’d like to restore its brilliance, you can.
- Remove light tarnish with your polishing cloth
- More sweat means more patina. If this bothers you, take pieces off during strenuous activity.
- Heavily tarnished pieces can be restored at home. Soak your piece in lemon juice for five minutes. Clean with a soft toothbrush and some dish soap. A lemon juice and baking soda paste can work on tough spots. Pat the piece dry with a soft cloth and polish with the provided cloth. Please avoid this procedure for pieces featuring natural pearls and other delicate stones.
- Yes, brass can cause your skin to turn green. It’s nothing to worry about. That’s the copper interacting with the salt of your skin. It washes off quite easily.

Silver tarnishes when it comes in contact with sulfur molecules in the atmosphere.
